Anka

We know very little of Anka as the story begins: only that she was hired by Ted to interview Sophie, who is being held for the murders of Lisa and Doron. A young woman with an inquisitive mind, Anka seems strangely unaware of anything except her duty towards Ted, and slowly starts to question her own reason for existing.

Anka is shown in the film’s conclusion to be a computer model programmed to take over the interrogation of Sophie after Ted’s countless attempts to crack the meaning of storytelling have all failed. Anka however is able to be convinced by Sophie of the need for empathy and love for human narrative systems to acquire its meaning, and becomes Sophie’s ally in making Ted to accept this fact.
